A cache is a supply of useful items left out for hikers.[1]. One of the most common examples of a cache is a water cache, which consist of a collection of water bottles that make it possible to traverse a long stretch that lacks natural water sources. Water caches are commonly found on long distance hiking trails in the US Mountain West.

When using a cache, always remember to practice Leave No Trace and pack out empty containers.
