Nobo

"Nobo" is hiker jargon for hiking a trail in a generally northward direction.

The word can function as a noun or verb. For example:

  • "I'm a nobo," which means, "I am hiking north from my starting point."
  • "I want to nobo the Pacific Crest Trail next year," which means, "I want to hike the Pacific Crest Trail travelling north from my starting point."
  • "I'm noboing the Appalachian Trail," which means, "I am hiking north on the Appalachian Trail."
