Access from the Trail

The Pacific Crest Trail crosses California Highway 78 at mile 77, known as 'Scissors Crossing'. The town of Julian is located 12 miles to the west of this point and is usually a relatively easy hitch.

Lodging

Resupply

Groceries

Julian Market carries all the usual hiker foods and is very welcoming to PCT hikers.

Gear Shops

Stove Fuel

Shipping Services

There is conflicting information as to whether there is still a Post Office in Julian. As of October 2019, USPS no longer lists it on their website, although this conflicts with other information online. Verify for yourself before attempting to send a package to the Post Office!

Food and Drink

Thru-hikers will likely be interested in paying a visit to 'Mom's Pies', where they can obtain a free serving of pie, ice cream and a drink on production of a valid PCT permit.
